The third annual Mtn Craft Film Festival has returned to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center, bringing together filmmakers from across Appalachia for four days of screenings, art, and community. Festival Director Ben Berry said the event continues to grow each year, spotlighting films being made right here in the region and celebrating the diversity of Appalachian storytelling.
A Celebration of Appalachian Film
This year’s lineup features more than 40 official selections representing states from Tennessee to New York, along with creative workshops and an on-stage art gallery behind the main screen. Attendees can also enjoy locally crafted beer and coffee from Stone Tower Brews and Short Story Brewing, including festival-exclusive blends Director’s Cut II and Audience Choice IPA.
Honoring Legacy and Looking Ahead
The festival closes Sunday with a filmmaker brunch and a West Virginia Heritage Block featuring acclaimed documentarian Jacob Young, known for Dancing Outlaw and Appalachian Junkumentary. Thursday’s red-carpet premiere of Covering the Spread: A Mountaineer Saga—a documentary on WVU football’s coaching transitions—set the tone for a weekend rooted in pride, creativity, and connection.
